Chief Specialist for Project Management of the Reserves Management Center of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Sheyda Allahverdiyeva, architect Gulnar Aliyeva, and other employees of the agency visited the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The guests met with the director general of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Alovsat Guliyev. The meeting discussed research into the existence of a kahriz system in Shusha, as well as questions about other ancient water bodies located in those areas - especially salt and fresh water wells. Extensive information was presented about the kahrizes, which existed in the Karabakh region and once played an important role in providing water to the local population.

Professor Alovsat Guliyev provided detailed information about our country's rich water culture heritage, including the importance of kahrizes in ecology, agriculture, and sustainable water management.

He noted that, these water sources also have great potential in terms of ecotourism.
