By the Resolution No. 277 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 18, 2016 “On some issues of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences”, the Institute of Erosion and Irrigation was merged with the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry and established on their basis.

The main scientific directions of the laboratory: Study of erosion processes in the soils of the Republic of Azerbaijan and development of ways to prevent them.

The laboratory's staff potential is 8 people: 2 leading scientists, 2 senior scientists, 2 scientists, 1 junior scientist.
