Our country is known for its rich book culture and rich libraries from the ancient times. These libraries include the library of the institute of Soil Science and agrochemistry.

The library has been existed since 1945. The library`s literature found according to the profile was added and distributed to the colleageus of the institute.

At the moment the book found contains 59402 items. The found of the library consists of Azerbaijani, Russian foreign literature and references.

The library serves to 270 readers. As well as the library is also used by ANAS, Geography, Zoolagy, Botany, BSU , IU and other institutes.

The library has books on the fields of soil science, agrochemistry, geography meloration and etc. The books of the classics of science of soil science can be found in the library. For ex: D.V Dokuchayev, D.N Pronishnikov, K.K Gedrois, V.D Volobuyev, H.A Aliyev, M.M Salayev and others.

Bibliographic work is always the central part of the of the library. Questions related to scientific reseach conducted at the institute can be replied in the library.

The library gives information to the collaborators of the institute. The scientific and technical information department also carries out the mauntenance of the technical supply of information, as well organizes the management of the institute`s WEB site and internet and the conducting of the meetings.
