   Today, a commemorative event was held at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of  Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan  on March 31 - Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis. At the beginning of the event, the memory of the victims of the genocide was commemorated with a minute of silence. Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Alovsat Guliyev opened the event with his opening speech. The scientist noted that, the March 31 genocide is one of the bloodiest tragedies of the genocidal policy committed against Azerbaijanis by Armenian nationalists. On March 26, 1998, with the decree "On Genocide of Azerbaijanis" signed by national leader Heydar Aliyev, a comprehensive political evaluation was given to the criminal acts of Armenian nationalists.
   The chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts -Tarlan Yelmarlı said that, this genocide, which was organized with the aim of stifling the independence of Azerbaijan and dealing a heavy blow to the national democratic forces, was engraved in the history of the Azerbaijan.
   At the end of the event, a video dedicated to Genocide Day was shown.
