President Ilham Aliyev is writing a new history. He continues the path of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and fulfills his will. The victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, like our national leader Heydar Aliyev, regained the confidence of the Azerbaijani people and managed to unite the people as one fist. As a result, our historical lands were freed from the enemy. Today, President Ilham Aliyev has turned Azerbaijan into a powerful state that pursues an independent policy and cannot be influenced by any force in the world. The wise leader Ilham Aliyev fought and fought alone for Azerbaijan during his leadership of our country and endured all unjust threats and pressures. His only support is his nation. "The Commander-in-Chief, who drew strength from his nation, did what no other leader in the world could do and showed courage that no one else could show."
Corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Alovsat Guliyev, said this in his statement to AZERTAC. Scientist said that, the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev changed the 200-year history, fully ensured the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, realized the greatest dream of our people and raised the flag of Azerbaijan in Khankendi. Khankendi was the Armenianized land of Azerbaijan, they took this city from us for 100 years. Although, Khankendi belonged to us on paper during the Soviet era, in reality, but they "sit and stood" with instructions from Armenia. We all know what happened in the last 30 years. Let me mention one fact. In 1967, when two Azerbaijanis were burned in front of everyone's eyes in Khankendi, our hands were tied, Moscow did not allow us to take revenge on those innocent Azerbaijanis.
The Armenians living in the region incited national enmity according to the plans of their patrons, resorted to even the most ugly acts for the realization of their plans. The incident committed in 1967 was a clear manifestation of hatred towards Azerbaijanis and disregard for Baku. It is true that Heydar Aliyev, who was the chairman of the State Security Committee at that time, went to Khankendi and determined to find and punish the criminals. But Moscow did not allow them to be properly punished. Later, Khankendi became a devil's nest, a center of Armenian separatists. Liberation of Khankendi from occupation was a matter of national pride of the Azerbaijani people. I am sure that, the biggest dream of every individual of our people was to raise the Azerbaijani flag in Khankendi. This city is freer than it has been in a hundred years, it is more ours than it has ever been. The Great Supreme Commander-in-Chief and our mighty Army cut the roots of separatism in the region by liberating Khankendi," said Alovsat Guliyev. The scientist said that, today we are living in historical days that we did not even imagine: "In June 2021, when the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his visit to Shusha, pointed to Khankendi and said to the head of state, "Is there a hotel there?"
At that time, the head of our state laughed and replied: " It will too!" At that time, most of us knew that, the general who freed Shusha from occupation would also clear Khankendi from the enemy. But let's face it imagine that, it will happen with lightning speed we didn't. This is such a historical Victory that, words cannot fully express it." Alovsat Guliyev said that, the most important feature of President Ilham Aliyev's leadership is that he is a master of his word. Every opinion of the head of our state has the importance of fixation with reality. That is, whatever he says, he definitely implements it. It is planning, strategic approach that, completes the image of Ilham Aliyev as a skilled politician.
The Great Commander-in-Chief has repeatedly said in his speeches that we will return to our historical lands, to Western Azerbaijan. The wise policy of our head of state, his decisive and courageous decisions have made us believe that we will return to our ancestral lands. The wise leader, the victorious general Ilham Aliyev brings us closer to that historic day every day," the scientist added.
