Corresponding member of ANAS, professor Alovsat Guliyev attended the event dedicated to drinking water supply of Shusha city.

    On January 9, a preliminary discussion was held in Shusha by the state commission established within Azersu OJSC to “prepare a feasibility study and preliminary design documents for the establishment of a sustainable drinking water supply system in Shusha city and Dashalti village of Shusha region”.The event was also attended by the Director General of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Alovsat Guliyev.

   The discussion meeting was chaired by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha region Aydin Karimov and Deputy Chairman of Azersu OJSC Etibar Mammadov. Special Envoy Aydin Karimov briefed the guests on the implementation of the President's instructions on the city of Shusha and its restoration and the work being done.
   The meeting discussed the ancient water supply system of Shusha, its destruction by Armenians, ensuring reliable and quality water in Shusha after restoration, assessment of water resources, application of innovative technologies in water supply systems and environmental impact assessment.

   The event was attended by experts from various government agencies, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Emergency   Situations, the Ministry of Finance, the State Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and others officials were present.
    At the end of the event, the existing water system lines and destroyed water basins were inspected.The task is to carry out fundamental research work with the help of a special search project research group and to create opportunities for the city of Shusha to use more suitable water sources and surrounding rivers.The responsibilities of each organization for the restoration of water supply in Shusha have been identified.During the visit, the delegates witnessed the magnificent construction work in the liberated areas along the way.
