The international conference on "Kahriz systems as an architectural monument, sustainable water system, the basis of social and economic development" was held on May 26-27 with financial support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
On the first day of the conference, Director General of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev made a report on "Climate change in the world, today and tomorrow of the Kahriz canals".It should be noted that, Alovsat Guliyev has been a member of the UNESCO Interstate Board for Ancient Hydraulic Systems - Kahriz since 2006.
On the second day of the international conference on May 27, Ali Jafarov, Head of the Soil Physics Laboratory of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry made a report on the topic "Current condition of Kahriz water systems and rules of their maintenance".
The main purpose of the conference is to show the importance of the Kahriz water system in overcoming the problem of global water shortages. Representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, various ministries and government agencies, the executive authorities of the regions where the project is implemented were present at the conference.
