The annual report was heard of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry for 2022.

   The  meeting of the Scientific Council was held of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dedicated to the annual report of the Scientific İnstitution.

   Vice-President of ANAS, academician - Irada Huseynova, General Director of the Institute of Genetic Resources, Corresponding Member of ANAS - Zeynal Akparov, correspondent member of ANAS - Novruz Guliyev, head of the scientific, technical and innovative activity organization department - Huseyn Huseynov and the scientific secretary of the Medical Sciences department - Afig Mammadov,  the İnstitute's management, members of the Scientific Council, relevant laboratory and department employees participated at the meeting. 

   Chairing the meeting  Academician Irada Huseynova, gave the floor to director general of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS  Alovsat Guliyev, to present the report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry for 2022.

   Alovsat Guliyev informed that, the research conducted at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry is carried out based on the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

   He noted that, 2 problems, 83 works covering 17 topics and 110 stages of scientific-research works were carried out in accordance with the scientific direction of the institute according to the subject plan of the institute's scientific-research works, and he noted that, 2 important results were achieved. 25 of the articles were published in international journals indexed in "Web of Science", "Scopus", "Agris" databases with a high impact factor. 212 publications were cited of institute scientists.

   The scientist also noted that, in the reporting year, the Institute successfully continued cooperation with Turkey, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, and Singapore.

   Alovsat Guliyev informed about the current situation of the collectors of Head Mil Karabakh, Head Mil Mugan, Head Shirvan in Kura-Araz plain.He stated that, the minerality of the water discharged from the collectors is very low, even in places where the minerality of the water is less than 3.0 g/l, the water is used for irrigation.

   The scientist mentioned about the work done on reliable water systems in Azerbaijan - kahriz and noted that, restoring both the demand for drinking water and will be able to stimulate the development of irrigation farming in agriculture.

   Alovsat Guliyev also spoke in detail about the Institute's personnel training, doctoral and dissertation studies, relations with higher schools, master's degrees, integration of science and education, international relations, scientific visits to foreign countries. The scientist gave extensive information about the international scientific conference dedicated to December 5 World Soil Day called "Soil science: yesterday, today and tomorrow" jointly organized by the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry and Khazar University.

   Relevant information on the work carried out in the İnstitute's support stations, material and technical equipment and social issues was presented.

   Later, extensive discussions were held around the report, and questions addressed to the speaker were answered in detail. At the end, academician Irada Huseynova's discussions summing up, he positively evaluated the activity of the Institute. The open vote was held and the report was unanimously accepted by the members of the Scientific Council.
