A scientific-practical seminar on "Ensuring efficient use of water resources" was held under the organization of the Department of Ecology of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of Sumgayit State University, On April 12.

    The SSU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Professor Ramazan Mammadov, General Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Alovsat Guliyev, Deputy Director of the "Sukanal" Research and Project Institute Elnur Nasirov, Head of the "Sumgayit Sukanal" Department  deputy Mahir Imanov, department head of the Azerbaijan Scientific and Research Institute of Water Problems Hamlet Fattayev and others, as well as professors and teachers, graduate students and students of the university participated at the seminar.

   The professor Alovsat Guliyev made a speech on the topic of "Using water resources in Azerbaijan, ancient water sources-kahriz" at the event. Alovsat Guliyev gave detailed information about the reduction of fresh water sources in the modern world, the rapid depletion of existing water resources as a result of environmental pollution and inefficient use of water, as well as the kahriz with rich fresh water resources. The scientist noted that, Kahriz, which does not have any negative effect on ecosystems, is considered the most reliable resource in arid zones. The scientist's report was met with great interest, and discussions were held with the participation of students, and numerous questions were answered.

    lt was brought to attention that, the strategic importance of water and educational work in the direction of saving it are always relevant at the seminar.
