The conference on "Heydar Aliyev's role in the development of agricultural science" was held, which dedicated to the "Year of Heydar Aliyev".

   By the organization of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Lankaran State University - the scientific-practical conference dedicated to the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" has started.
   At the beginning of the conference, which opened with the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, the dear memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence. The conference was opened by the rector of LSU, prof.Natig Ibrahimov's opening speech. The professor talked about the irreplaceable  role of the Great leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of the agricultural sector, as well as in all fields in Azerbaijan.
   The General Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Alovsat Guliyev, delivered a report on "Climatic change and the emergence of water problems in Azerbaijan".
   In his speech, the scientist gave detailed information about the reduction of fresh water sources in the modern world, the rapid depletion of existing water resources as a result of environmental pollution and inefficient use of water, as well as the kahriz with rich fresh water resources.
   At the plenary session of the scientific-practical conference, the correspondent member of ANAS, professor Amin Ismayilov spoke on the subject - "The main features of digital land mapping in Azerbaijan", assistant professors of LSU Balayar Shahbazov spoke on the subject - "Land reforms of Heydar Aliyev are a guarantee of food security", and Malahat Aghayeva spoke on the subject - "Heydar Aliyev and the development of tea cultivation in Azerbaijan".
   After the plenary session, the conference continued its work in its divisions : "Genesis, classification, evolution and geoinformation systems of soils", "Land, water resources and their efficient use", "Protection of soil biodiversity", "Development of tea cultivation".
   After the conference, the rector of LSU, professor Natig Ibrahimov, presented gifts to the General Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Alovsat Guliyev and the employees of the Institute.
