Today, a commemorative event was held at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 26, in connection with the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide. At the beginning of the event, the memory of Khojaly genocide victims was commemorated with a minute of silence. The event was opened by the general director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS, prof. Alovsat Guliyev noted with regret that, The Khojaly tragedy is the most terrible of the massacres committed by Armenians against the people of Azerbaijan. In his speech, the scientist said that, the Khojaly tragedy is a continuation of the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide carried out by Armenian nationalists against the people of Azerbaijan for up to 200 years. Alovsat Guliyev noted that, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev raised the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan on October 15, 2023 in the city of Khojaly. The waving of the Azerbaijani flag in Khojaly demonstrates once again that, the blood of the victims of the tragedy does not remain on the ground.
Speaking at the event, academician Maharram Babayev noted that, the atrocities committed by the Armenian armed forces in gross violation of the norms and principles of international law will never be erased from memory.Chairman of the Trade Union Organization of the Institute, Mammad Mammadov said with regret that, the pain and suffering of the Khojaly tragedy will still live in our hearts.
The deputy chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute - Dayanat Bakhishov informed the event participants about the events that took place in Khojaly on the night of February 25-26, 1992.The martyrs of Khojaly will always live in our hearts and their memories will be cherished.
