On October 16, the Environmental Research Center of Khazar University held the conference "On the eve of COP29: An international symposium called "Coordinating Education, Public Health and Sustainable Development" was held.
The director general of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS, prof. Alovsat Guliyev delivered a report on "Water shortage and agrarian economy of Azerbaijan" at the symposium. He drew attention to the effects of water shortage on agriculture in the country and proposed solutions to ensure sustainable development.
Scientists, teachers, health professionals and politicians participated in the event and discussed the importance of interaction in the fields of climate change, education and public health. Liverpool University professor Suzanne Leroy, Khazar University guest professor Natalia Rekhter and other well-known experts presented reports on climate change, its effects on health and human life, and analyzed current issues in this regard.
The symposium highlighted the possibilities of cooperation of various fields to combat climate change and the interrelationship of education, health and sustainable development in this process.
