Alovsat Guliyev, a well-known scientist in the field of agricultural sciences, general director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS, turns 75 years old.
  Alovsat Gulush oglu Guliyev was born on August 10, 1947 in Sofulu village of Sisyan region. In 1970, he graduated from the Hydromelioration Faculty of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute, and in 1980, he graduated from the post-graduate course of the EA Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Azerbaijan SSR. He defended his candidate's theses in 1984 and his doctoral theses in 2008. He received the title of professor in 2011, and was elected a corresponding member of ANAS in 2017.

   In 1973-2015, Alovsat Guliyev worked as a teacher, head teacher, associate professor, general technical subjects, head of ecology, melioration departments at Nakhchivan State University and Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry in 2015-2021 and Since 2021, he has been the director general of the İnstitute.
   Alovsat Guliyev's scientific activity is mainly dedicated to ways of combating repeated salinization and irrigation erosion in the irrigated lands of Nakhchivan MR. For the first time, he developed the methods of cleaning the soil from harmful salts in the territories of Babek, Kangarli, and Sharur regions, which were exposed to repeated salinization in a short period of time, and returning them to the crop rotation. With the advice of the scientist, the drying of the lakes polluted by anthropogenic effects, the cleaning of the soil and the greening of the area were carried out in the areas of the former Iodine-Bromine plant and Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
   Alovsat Guliyev is the author of 179 scientific works (58 abroad), including 14 books, 2 textbooks and 4 short-length scientific-publicistic film scripts. The scientist currently supervises more than 10 master's and doctoral studies.

   Alovsat Guliyev is a full member of the International Academy of Ecology, Human and Nature Safety, the International Academy of Ecoenergetics, the chairman of the Dissertation Council operating under the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry.
   Alovsat Guliyev was awarded with honorary degrees of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the "Advanced Education Worker" badge of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the jubilee medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
