Corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev made a report at the scientific-practical webinar.

On November 17, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sumgayit State University organized a scientific-practical webinar on "Restoration work in the liberated territories" dedicated to the Victory Day. The General Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Alovsat Guliyev made a report on "Ways to solve water problems in the liberated territories" at the event. The scientist's speech was met with interest by the webinar participants.The scientist noted that 64.33 mln.cubic meter Kahriz canals in Aghdam, 34.68 million cubic meters in Jabrayil, 19.01 million cubic meters in Fizuli of irrigation capacity.
These rare water sources have been subjected to savagery for many years, and human corpses, chemical waste and military ammunition have been dumped into their wells. All Kahriz canals in the district should be monitored. The results of the monitoring should be systematized according to the data collected from other sources in addition to the research, using maps of the geographical distribution of the Kahriz  canals. At the  webinar also discussed the consequences of environmental terrorism in Karabakh, the biodiversity of the liberated lands, the involvement of young people in environmentally innovative projects. Employees of Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, Azerbaijan Technical University, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, Azersu Open Joint-Stock Company and other organizations also made reports at the event.
